The Daughters of Charity in Ethiopia are seeking support for a borehole drilling project at St. Catherine’s Seminary in Addis Ababa to address severe water scarcity in the area. The project aims to provide sustainable access to clean and safe water for approximately 150 people, including seminary sisters in formation, elderly retired sisters, staff, and some poor community members, in a city where piped water supply comes only once every two weeks and many residents must travel long distances or pay inflated prices to private vendors for water. The initiative will reduce travel time and distance for water collection, decrease household water expenses, and support the care of elderly sisters.
