St. Catherine’s Seminary in Ethiopia successfully constructed a borehole to address severe water shortages; however, the community still faces critical challenges due to the unreliable national electrical grid that frequently disrupts the water system. To solve this problem permanently, the Sisters aim to install a dedicated solar power system that will provide reliable, renewable energy to ensure continuous water pumping operations. This solar solution will guarantee uninterrupted access to safe drinking water for the Seminary and wider community, protect the existing well infrastructure investment, and strengthen resilience against power disruptions.
