The De Marillac Centre in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, is seeking to install solar energy systems, upgrade water infrastructure (including a new borehole and storage tanks), and improve sanitation facilities (toilets and bathrooms) for their street children rehabilitation program. The project aims to provide reliable electricity and clean water access to support the education and health of vulnerable children aged 5-17 who live at the center or visit daily as “drop-ins.” The initiative will directly benefit 1,204 people, including 52 resident children, 960 monthly drop-in street children, 4 sisters, 13 staff members, 75 neighbors, and 100 police officers, while creating a more conducive environment for rehabilitating street children into productive members of society.
