Nouna Refugee Wells and Latrines

Project Description

Nouna has been facing attacks from terrorist groups, leading to a surge in internally displaced persons (IDPs). The lack of safe water and sanitation facilities posed significant challenges for both the IDPs and host families. The town, under blockade for over eight months, suffers from severed roads and sabotaged electricity lines, affecting the water supply system. The proposed project aims to address these issues by drilling seven boreholes, providing reliable water access, and constructing ten latrines to enhance sanitary conditions. These efforts are crucial in reducing the risk of illnesses and deaths among the affected population.
