The Marillac Educational Center urgently needs a new emergency stairwell due to the inadequacies in the current staircase construction. The existing staircase is unable to support the weight of the substantial number of students, teachers, and staff—354 secondary and technical students, 27 teachers, and 28 administrative and support staff—during emergency evacuations. Through observations during drills, it has been made clear that the current staircase poses a significant and visible risk.
