Daughters of Charity have been ministering in Egypt for more than 75 years, serving the sick, poor, elderly, lonely, and educating children of poor and marginalized communities. The goal of this project is three-fold. First, to provide an education for children, adult literacy classes, health monitoring, and women empowerment activities for a small Christian community that has been neglected and mistreated by the surrounding communities. Second, to support the poorest young girls in a second community, especially those with disabilities and/or those
mistreated by their families or husbands by providing materials the girls and women can use to make merchandise to sell for extra income. Third, to provide one meal a day to about thirty poor people who suffer from malnutrition and who have fragile health.
