Daughters of Charity have been serving in Muyinga, Burundi, since 1998 – a region marked by extreme poverty, overpopulation, limited access to clean water, and high rates of illiteracy and disease, including AIDS and malaria. In recent years, they have observed a growing number of individuals suffering from epilepsy and psychosis. The goal of this project is to provide essential medical care for those with neurological and mental health conditions, ultimately to help them reintegrate into society and live with dignity despite the many challenges of their environment.
