San Gil – Cours pour personnes handicapées à la Marillac Foundation School

Description du Projet

The Marillac Foundation School in San Gil-Santander plays a transformative role in addressing the deep-rooted social and educational neglect experienced by children, youth, and adults with cognitive, physical, sensory, and intellectual disabilities. In a region lacking government programs for special education and disability support, this project offers a rare and vital lifeline—particularly for families living in poverty and social vulnerability who face exclusion, stigma, and emotional strain. Through personalized, inclusive education, the School provides students aged 5 to 30 with holistic, life-enhancing support that goes beyond traditional schooling. By offering alternative teaching strategies, tailored resources, and emotional guidance, the school fosters independence, rehabilitation, and cognitive development, while also supporting families with training and engagement. The community impact is profound: it not only uplifts the quality of life for students with disabilities but also fosters greater awareness, empathy, and inclusion within their families and surrounding communities.
