Daughters of Charity are seeking to improve the health and quality of life for approximately 1,000 children, adolescents, and vulnerable people in the Awajún district of Peru by installing a water purification plant at educational institutions. By providing clean, safe drinking water, the project seeks to reduce gastrointestinal diseases, promote better hygiene practices, and raise awareness about the importance of clean water consumption. Key activities include training teachers and staff on water system operation, conducting workshops on food handling and handwashing, and implementing regular water tank maintenance. The project will directly benefit students at the San Vicente de Paul, as well as the local community, by ensuring access to safe drinking water and improving overall health outcomes.
