There are many children, teens, and youths with disabilities who need special care and services in the El Penol municipality. Parents and guardians struggle with how to raise, support, and advocate for their children with disabilities. The Fundación Con Amor por Amor (Love for Love Foundation) is the only institution that provides care for children and adolescents with disabilities. The project seeks to work with children with disabilities and/or developmental challenges and train and educate mothers, fathers, and/or guardians as co-therapists in providing proper care. This will be accomplished through an interdisciplinary team of professions caring for 140 children and actively engaging family members in therapeutic and educational sessions with their children with disabilities.
