The ongoing war in Ukraine has disastrous economic consequences; this includes the collapse of factories and enterprise, progressive inflation, weakening of currency, and very high unemployment. For families to survive, parents need to have someone to care for their children so they can find some work. The Daughters of Charity are serving 32 preschool children and conduct regular visits to 12 families in most need. There is a much greater need, however the limited space in the shelter where children are hidden every time there is an air alarm is limited. The goal is to provide a Day Room to watch over pre-school children and support poor families in the communities in war times. This will include food, clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, and general maintenance.
