The project proposes a solar system for the Sacred Heart Hospital campus. Installation of the photovoltaic system would provide a stable and available source of electricity for operating the medical equipment, heating, and air conditioning. This is a service that every hospital institution needs to have in order to guarantee the patients’ safety. The patients’ lives depend on respirators, oxygen, etc. All patients, including the babies in neonatology, are in danger. Currently, 85% of the Lebanese population has no resource for having electricity, except for the three hours a day supplied by the municipalities. The diesel fuel needed to run the generators is too expensive; for this population it is impossible to buy any.
