St. Vincent de Paul Church and Monastery provides services to people with special needs, the elderly, and children who are homeless or in situations of neglect. This project will specifically benefit two vulnerable populations: those with special needs and the elderly living at St. Vincent’s. Unfortunately, the beds for these individuals are outdated and dilapidated. They must be replaced to better serve those who are living with disabilities at St. Vincent’s. New electric medical beds will be purchased to allow for more comfortable sleep. Moreover, these beds will help with physiotherapy and staff safety as they are height adjustable. Project support will also be used towards the purchase of waterproof mattresses, which prove to be more hygienic and durable than traditional mattresses.
