DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY
OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT SERVICES
Pacaja is a town in the state of Para in the northern region of Brazil. Recurrent and intense flooding negatively affected the economic climate and the spirit of the local people. Initially, the Sisters responded with food baskets to offer some basic necessities. With funds secured through IPS, the Sisters were able to provide more help to over 100 poor families, victims of the natural disaster, by addressing urgent needs like medicines, food, clothing, shoes and shelter. Also some of the funds were used to replace furnishings, farming supplies and for small construction. The service of the Daughters of Charity helped renew the faith of the local people of Pacaja.
