DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY
OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT SERVICES
The Daughters of Charity in Kazakhstan work to help the poorest families in the three communities of Sulton, Shortandy and Makinsk. Long, harsh winters mandate the warm clothing and the need for fuel to heat their buildings. Living conditions are challenging for people living in these communities because they do not have adequate access to clean water, sewer systems, or sufficient food, money and basic supplies. Children suffer the most due to lack of proper nutrition, leading to illness and starvation. Helplessness, depression and a lack of morality also threaten the well-being of children, youth, adults and the elderly alike. The Sisters need financial support to purchase fuel to continue the many beneficial social services they offer through their Day Care Center, Soup Kitchen, after-school activities including tutoring and catechism. More than 600 individuals will be assisted through this project.
