DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY
OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT SERVICES
San Jose Home offers shelter, support, food, transportation, social/spiritual guidance, and access to health care for young mothers, pregnant women, and vulnerable women in situations of poverty, displacement (forced migration), and victims of violence. Residents typically range in age from 16-30 years old and stay at the home for varied durations – sometimes only a few days and other times up to two years. These women struggle as victims of extreme poverty, they are without financial resources, and generally have low levels of education. Some have even been the victims of sexual violence and/or human trafficking. The goal of this ministry is to restore their dignity and improve the health and well-being for these women and their newborns. The program is currently in need of financial support and will use project funds for items such as toiletries, clothing, medicines, training, lodging, transportation, and workshop materials.
