DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY
OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT SERVICES
Renovations of the deteriorated infrastructure at the Saint Vincent de Paul Day Care are now complete. The improved conditions will help the Sisters to better serve children and youth from their community who are at risk from social exclusion. The poverty these children face at home are soothed in this atmosphere where they can feel safe, study and enjoy a warm meal. The improved surroundings and furnishings will help to reduce stress and make the children feel at home. The school was closed during a large part of the Covid Pandemic while the renovations were completed. About 20 children attended the Day Care during the Pandemic and the Sisters hopeful for full attendance in the upcoming new school year. Fifty children will be will be experiencing newly insulated classrooms, positively impacting their health and well-being. On most days they will spend 4 hours in this atmosphere before they go to a cold home. The quality of education will also improve because the children will have the ability to concentrate and participate in positive developmental activities. Parents trust the Sisters to be discreet about their home life, encouraging ongoing educational activities for their children at the day care.
