ENHANCED EDUCATION OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

Tosagua, ECUADOR

Project Description

This project at the Saint Louise de Marillac School in Tosagua has the goal of improving the quality of the education received by rural children and adolescents through the use of information and communication technology. Through training and the purchase of appropriate digital equipment, 38 teachers and 903 students will enter the digital world and learn adequate use of the tools through daily use in the education setting. The skills they learn will assist them in their future and foster lifelong growth. This program will also raise awareness among parents as well as local and regional education representatives and authorities on the benefits of digital development to complement learning. The larger goal is to have the Ministry of Education’s program of providing equipment include rural schools and not just urban area schools, thus providing sustainability.
