DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY
OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT SERVICES
In the rural area of El Beni, in the Bolivian Amazon, the Daughters of Charity Health Center provides vital health care to economically depressed and poor residents. The Center emerged among services in the Pomeii Parish more than 30 years ago beginning as a parish dispensary. It grew to become a reference pharmacy providing essential medicines and then a hospital for the El Beni area. Medical services, including diagnostic support services expanded over 30 years. Their old X-Ray machine now no longer serves them well; it is outdated and dangerous. The Sisters are requesting support to purchase equipment to provide digital X-Rays for community inhabitants so they can provide safe and effective diagnostic services for the poor.
