SUPPORT FOR NEW INCLUSIVE EDUCATIONAL CENTER

Nouna, BURKINA FASO

Project Description

This program’s goal is to successfully achieve integration of young persons with disabilities into society. The Sisters hope that their new inclusive education center will lead to a decrease in discrimination and stigmatization of persons with disabilities. The program will also address the girl child, who is often considered to be of lesser value than the male child and receives few educational opportunities. By educating persons with disabilities and those from uneducated low-income families, these persons will be able to make their own contributions to the community in the future. This portion of the project is a three-year commitment to cover the costs for the teaching staff. Quality instructors will be vital to affording this life-changing opportunity to the variety of students including: the girl child, the boy child, orphans, children from low income families, and children living with disabilities.
