DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY
OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT SERVICES
Many poor families living in city of Ruzo are unable to afford a primary school education for their children and therefore, they do not have access to secondary education. The Daughters of Charity respond to the needs these youth through an Artisanal Center where they offer skills development in sewing, carpentry, and masonry in addition to general academic subjects. Funding from this project was used to train 61 students during the 2014/2015 school year. This year, 21 of these students completed the program and received certificates and the basic materials needed to apply the new skill they had learned. This program provides a step out of poverty for this young generation.
